Desmond believes, that if you sacrifice your family for success, you have nothing left to live for. If you can’t take care of your family, there is no way you can take care of your business.
Desmond now works exclusively with 6,7 and 8-figure businesses owners and helps them scale so they can create a legacy without sacrificing their family life.
Desmond is now a stakeholder in multiple 6 and 7-figure businesses while managing two companies of his own with his wife, bringing in another 7 figures a year and scaling some Ecomm ventures focusing on health/performance/bio-hacking
He constantly surrounds himself with top leaders such as Dan Lok and Josh Spurrell, Desmond has not only absorbed their teachings and tactics but built collaborations and strategic alliances.
It’s not that you don’t know your own business. But sometimes we want to cater to everyone, we want to offer as many services as possible. Why? Because of FOMO. Missing out on opportunities.
Desmond is not the expert at everything. That is why he surrounds himself with top coaches, marketers, copywriters, and speakers in all fields. When you work with Desmond Soon, it means you have access to his entire Rolodex as per your needs.
Business is risky and hard enough. Business during a recession is even more challenging. Yet we hear stories of great companies such as Whatsapp, Uber, and Slack all started during the 2008-09 recession. What levers did they pull? What advantages did they have during that time? Let’s talk about it.
It’s not always doing more, grinding away, and investing endless hours. Yes, entrepreneurship requires dedication and time. But sometimes. It’s just that small hinge that swings the big doors. Desmond helps you identify it. The answer to one simple question could double your revenue.
Sit down for a bird’s eye view of your business, what’s working, what’s not working, and what keeps you up at night. Help you identify the one big problem you are solving, and who out there would be willing to pay money for that solution.
Diagnose the issues. What is the missing hinge or hinges? What is the square wheel that is holding everything back? Which part of your system is a leaky bucket or a large gaping hole?
Give you the one or two things you need to implement right away. The small moves that give you the biggest impact. The 20% that makes up 80% of the revenue.
Guiding principles used to run every business
Maybe your business is growing, but you aren’t scaling. What is the difference between growing and scaling? When we say “grow” a part of your business, typically, it means you need more helping hands, more resources added for just a little bit more revenue. Think of it as adding to your revenue.
But when it comes to scaling your business, I talk about perhaps using systems or strategies, to replace people. And while it also does require resources, it should more than just add to revenue. Scaling is using those resources wisely to multiply revenue.
Many business owners don’t like Walmart, but they are acting like Walmart. They want to cater to every need, solve every problem, help everyone. “The riches are in the niches.” To me, this statement is only half true.
Instead, I believe that when you solve one problem well, and there is an audience willing to pay for it, then you have a business. The rest is up to how you deliver and convey that one message to that audience.
Underpromise and overdeliver. Now you never want to set yourself in a bad situation where you can’t even deliver. And when you forecast and make predictions, you never want to set the bar so high, then expect reality to catch up.
A wise business owner lets the client know their average results, knocks it down a few notches and uses that to pitch. Setting expectations right is the crux of overdelivering.
Ultimately you are the CEO, the entrepreneur, the business owner. You not only have a responsibility to yourself, but to your family, and to the employees who follow you. You do not have the luxury to play the blame game, say it was because it was the wrong audience, or whatever you might come up with.
